Specialized S-Works Torch Remco Road Cycling Shoes
Developed for Remco Evenepoel to conquer Grand Tour stages, the Specialized S-Works Torch Remco Road Cycling Shoes are big on race-winning Specialized technology but incredibly low on weight. In fact, they weigh in at a stunning 148.2 grams per shoe, the lightest in the pro peloton. Less is most definitely more with the Remco shoes.
Lightest Cycling Shoes in the Pro Peloton
The lack of weight is achieved through minimalist engineering: a simplified upper, made with a single layer of mesh and TPU, a pared-down carbon plate, a single Boa Li2 dial, and carefully placed nylon reinforcements. But it's not just about weight - engineered using Specialized’s proven Body Geometry methodology and a brand-new last, the S-Works Torch Remco reduces forefoot pressure by an impressive 44%. The result is a finely tuned balance of stiffness, support, and comfort, delivering explosive power transfer without compromise, mile after mile.
The weight-saving obsession extended to the closure system. Here, a wide midfoot closure strap is matched with a single BOA® Li2 dial. This system harmonises with a low-profile heel counter to hold the foot during max-power sprints while offering a fine-tuned fit and even pressure distribution. Meanwhile, the featherweight forefoot strap keeps the outsole and upper fully engaged, ensuring a smooth and efficient transfer of power.
Outsole Efficiency
After shedding 51.1 grams from the upper and closure system, the Specialized team turned their attention to the outsole, where even carbon was deemed too heavy. Backed by six years of stiffness research, they trimmed the carbon plate, integrated a nylon-injected toe cap and heel counter, and reinforced the structure around the plate. The result: a streamlined, ultra-efficient outsole that supports Remco’s explosive power while saving an additional 14 grams.
Ridden by Remco
Tested at the absolute limit by Remco Evenepoel in his debut Tour de France, this is a shoe that’s earned its stripes on the world’s toughest climbs. From the Col du Galibier to the Pla d’Adet, across five brutal mountain stages, Remco put his trust in the final S-Works Torch prototype with every attack, zero hesitation, total commitment. Its iconic orange detailing became a symbol of innovation, resilience, and podium ambition.
